Not a fan of the new virtual card colours so will make sure I keep my originals.
My only criticism is that some of the features such as virtual cards, connected accounts are only available on an upgraded plan whereas some other providers offer this as standard.

Their support team was dismissive and offered no reason, even after I provided all requested details. As an EU citizen, it honestly felt discriminatory. I’ve always trusted and recommended Monzo, but this experience makes the bank seem unreliable and untrustworthy. Im disappointed by Monzo.

Review 13 (4⭐) [Positive] [Group: Issues]: I’ve been with Monzo for a while. Not since the beginning but since the prepaid cards. I’ve loved their service, it’s what modern banking should look like and I think sets the standard in the UK.

The app has always been pretty great. Over the years the features have grown and as expected, the app can sometimes slow down with so much data being handled. For example, I use a lot of pots to handle all of my regular payments. This sometimes can affect the performance of the app. But day to day, I’m able to get what I need done and that’s the most important thing.

And nobody knows why they gather it and if they save it safely. But most terrible it is customer support. There is no way to get help immediately. Assistants will contact you 3-5 hours after you submit a request. And they still will not help. 2025 update: support is still useless.

I was also offered help with moving funds, etc. The app issue was resolved within 8 hours which, on reflection, is a decent response. I have been 100% happy with Chase up to this event happening and will continue to put my trust in them.

Sometimes it might give me the choice to get a OTP but not always. It is so frustrating. Still 1*.

06/Mar/2025 Update: App size is 880MB, another 200MB increase in 6months, Seriously HSBC? Your iOS developers not caring about the app size! I will never ever use app at all if the size of app not reduced.
22/Jan/2025 Update: Currently app size increased to 634MB! every update app size going up. Not good.

Every update to the app increasing the size of app. It used to be around 350MB, but currently the app size is just over 600MB !! seriously over a half a gig HSBC?
Barclays app seems to be much better, its size is under 300MB, which is reasonable. Removing HSBC app now to save space and moving to Barclays. Will use HSBC only when the app size falls below 300MB. HSBC IT app developers seems to be ignoring the app size increase, these days a docker container you get under 50MB, an app on top 200MB max is reasonable but not over 618MB!!
